Women's Health
Description: The MEPS-HC collects some questions specific to women related to preventive care (had a hysterectomy, time since last pap smear test, time since last breast exam, time since last mammogram). The type of medical conditions associated with events are collected, enabling identification of conditions specific to women. In addition to the publications listed below, many of the statistical briefs and other analytical reports using MEPS-HC data include breakouts and analysis by gender.
Data tables: Although none of the women-specific questions are available through MEPS-HC Summary Data Tables at this time, most tables provide breakdowns of data by sex. In addition, many tables can be customized so that women can be selected as the population of interest.
Analytic tools: None of the women specific variables are available with the MEPSnet query tools at this time. However, all tables can be customizable by sex.
