Question: I want access to the microdata that are used to make the MEPS-IC tables on the MEPS Web site. How do I get those files?
The MEPS-IC tables are derived from data collected for MEPS by the U.S. Census Bureau. The data are confidential and the only way for researchers to get access to these data is through one of the Federal Statistical Research Data Centers operated by the Census Bureau's Center for Economic Studies (CES). The tables posted on the MEPS Web site are created at the Census Bureau and passed through a strict confidentiality review process before they are released to the public.
