Question: Why aren't there estimates for every state every year?
Survey cost constraints prevented us from fielding a List sample large enough to make reliable state estimates for all states and the District of Columbia in 1996 through 2002. The 30 states with the largest populations have been estimated each year. A rotation schedule was developed for the remaining states and is documented in the Technical Notes. Beginning with 2003, MEPS-IC estimates are available for all 50 States and the District of Columbia. MEPS-IC data for 2007 was not collected, and is therefore unavailable for all states.
