Update Notes

MEPS HC-089: 2004 Full Year Consolidated Data File

Update #5: 05/30/14

The file documentation has been revised with corrected instructions in section 3.5 for creating CPS-family estimates. The variable identifying the CPS-family reference person is FCRP1231 and not FAMRFPYR as previously written.

Update #4: 11/22/13

STATA Programming Statements have been added.

Update #3: 07/31/09

The variable SAQWT04F has an incorrect label. The label should read "FINAL SAQ PERSON WEIGHT, 2004".

Update #2: 12/12/07

The variable FOODCT04 on the HC-089 data file should not be used because it is based on an invalid question in the survey instrument. This question asks "About how much did the family pay each month for food stamps?" when in fact, as of 1979, the food stamp program no longer maintained a purchase requirement. All responses are considered invalid.

Update #1: 01/19/07

The HC-089 data file, document and codebook files have been updated to reflect revisions in the family weight variables FAMWT04F and FAMWT04C.
