Released as an ASCII file (with related SAS, SPSS, STATA, and R programming statements and data user information), a SAS data set, a SAS transport dataset, a Stata dataset, and an Excel file, the 2023 Jobs File provides job-level data collected on a nationally representative sample of the United States civilian noninstitutionalized population for calendar year 2023. This file contains data collected in Rounds 3-5 of Panel 27, and Rounds 1-3 of Panel 28, corresponding to the rounds for the MEPS panels covering calendar year 2023. The dataset includes variables pertaining to household-reported jobs, including earnings types, hours and weeks worked, establishment size, industry and occupation codes, retirement and other benefits offerings, and health insurance availability. For more details on loading MEPS PUFs into R, SAS, and Stata, please visit the MEPS GitHub pageexternallink.

The MEPS Industry Codes Condensing Rules and Occupation Codes Condensing Rules are now located in the Documentation Appendix, and no longer listed as separate files.
