|
This Statistical Brief presents data from the 1987 National Medical Expenditure Survey (NMES) and the 2001 Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) concerning the prevalence of obesity in the U.S. adult (age 20 to 64) population. Emphasis is placed on whether the relationships between obesity and various socioeconomic and demographic characteristics (sex, race/ethnicity, education level, and poverty and health insurance status) of the population remained stable over that period. |
