Update #2: 12/22/11
The 2008 Full Year Consolidated Data File (HC121) has been updated to include several new cancer
and employment variables. In the original version of HC121, the minimum frequency for the cancer
variables was 21; i.e., if fewer than 21 persons were diagnosed with the specific cancer, the variable was
excluded from the dataset, and the CAOTHER variable tabulated the infrequently occurring cancer.
In the updated version, the threshold has been lowered to 4. Consequently, there are 12 new cancer
variables: CABLOOD, CABONE, CABRAIN, CALARYNX, CALIVER, CAMOUTH, CAMUSCLE, CAPANCRS, CARECTUM,
CASTOMCH, CATESTIS, CATHROAT, and the value of CAOTHER has also changed to reflect these new variables.
In addition, three new start job day variables have been added to the employment variables: STJBDD31,
STJBDD42, and STJBDD53.
Update #1: 05/24/11
The 2008 FY Consolidated Data
File (HC121) documentation has been updated: in Section 2.5.6.6,
Child Health and Preventive Care, the information identifying children
eligible for this section has been corrected.
