Household/Insurance Component Summary Tables
Using the phrase, and, and or search options.
Many search pages have options allowing users to choose phrase, and,
and or search options
When phrase is selected, the search term is treated as a phrase and must
be contained within the field being searched as it resides in the database.
When and is selected, all of the search terms must be in
the field being searched. When or is selected, at least one
of the search terms, separated by commas, must be in the field being searched.
The tables below provide several search examples and the type of results you can expect from similar entries. In the Household Component, the search engine scans both titles and text for the requested term or phrase. The first table represents searches performed through the Household Component:

Table number
searches
The summary tables searches allow searches on table numbers. The table
number has to be specified using dots to separate
the table number levels (for example III.F.1).
The wildcard character, %, may be used—so a search for III.F.% will
give all III.F tables and a search for %.A.% will give all National
or all State series A tables. When searching for tables, only the table
number should be entered in the search text. The word Table should
not be included.
Additional search tips:
- The following special characters may be used in a text search:
# & . % - ' " ? : _ , *
- This character may be used as a wildcard in a search where part of a term or phrase is unknown:
%
- The following special characters may not be used in a text search and will generate an error page:
$ ( ) + / ; < = > @ [ \ ] ^ ` { | } ~
- No specific year should be included in the search field. To specify a
year use the drop down menu.
- Do not enter a specific file size as search criteria, example: (923 KB)
*Total numbers here represent a snapshot of current publications. Actual totals will change frequently as publications are added to the site weekly.
