Overall, the percentage of the U.S. population who report having a usual source of care declined slightly from 82 percent in 1996 to 80 percent in 2006. The decline is concentrated among the uninsured; uninsured Americans were less likely to have a USC in 2006 (47 percent) compared to 1996 (58 percent) and less likely to have at least one office-based physician visit in 1996 (41 percent) compared to 2006 (36 percent). |
