The vast majority of full-time employees in the United States work where health insurance is offered. Availability of employer-sponsored health insurance for retirees, however, is not as widely available. This statistics brief gives data on availability of health insurance and retiree health insurance for full-time employees in the years 1998 and 2000. Of special interest are differences in availability of employer-sponsored health insurance for retirees by economic sector and size of employer. Also of note is the drop in availability of employer-sponsored health in insurance for retirees during the period examined. |
