This CD-ROM contains the following MEPS Household Component (HC) public use files released by AHRQ for calendar years 1999 and 2000: Full Year Consolidated Data Files (HC-038, HC-044, and HC-050); Event Files (HC-033A through HC-033I and HC-051A through HC-051I); Medical Conditions Files (HC-037 and HC-052); Jobs Files (HC-032 and HC-040); and Person-Round-Policyholder-Establishment Files (HC-047). For each of these releases, the following files are included: a README file, data file(s) in ASCII and SAS Transport format, documentation and codebook(s), and a file containing SAS programming statements and sample code for SAS users. Also included are these additional files: the data collection instrument for the MEPS Rounds 1-5 Household Component (including 1999-2000 supplements and self-administered/ parent-administered questionnaires), and a summary of all data items on MEPS HC files. The following files for public use release HC-050 on the HC-054 CD-ROM are incorrect and should be replaced by downloading the current versions: H50DAT.EXE, H50SSP.EXE, H50CB.PDF, H50SPU.TXT, H50SU.TXT. The updated versions reflect the following changes: edits (to variable name, label and selected values) for the SAQ and PAQ variables EQU42, CSHCN42, MCS42 and PCS42, and addition of the variable SVERLANG. (The HC-050 document file, H50DOC.PDF, is correct and does not need to be replaced.)
