Printing tips
This public use release is one in a series of public use event files drawn from the 2020 Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) Household (HC) and Medical Provider Components (MPC). This release contains two data files, the condition-event link file (CLNK) and the prescribed medicines-event link file (RXLK), both of which are provided in ASCII (with related SAS, SPSS, R, and Stata programming statements and data user information) and SAS data set, SAS transport file, Stata data set, and Excel file versions. File 1, the H220IFI or CLNK file, is used for linking the MEPS 2020 Conditions file (HC-222) with the MEPS 2020 event files (HC-220A through HC-220H); File 2, the H220IF2 or RXLK file, is used for linking the MEPS 2020 prescribed medicines event file (HC-220A) with other MEPS 2020 event files. The file contains data collected in Rounds 6-7 for Panel 23, Rounds 3-5 for Panel 24, and Rounds 1-3 of Panel 25 of the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (i.e., the rounds for the MEPS panels covering calendar year 2020). This year, 2020, is the first data year to include three panels of data; Panel 23 was extended to include Rounds 6 and 7. For more details on loading MEPS PUFs into R, SAS, and Stata, please visit the MEPS GitHub pageexternallink.
